Business Area: Pre-Sales Country: Romania Job based in: Romania Job Reference: MP/226775/W Pre-sales is the function that provides product expertise to sales, customers & partners in Oracle. Oracle has a large community of pre-sales consultants across EMEA that engage on a daily basis in tasks such as: Product presentations & demonstrations Advise customers & partners on how best to use Oracle products Respond to tenders Interact with product development about new releases, new functionality As a pre-sales consultant you have the chance to develop in a very broad spectrum, ranging from product expertise, customer interaction, communication and general IT market knowledge. Successful pre-sales consultants are in high demand and have the opportunity to pursue a career path both in pre-sales and in many different IT and non-IT functions. The BI Pre-sales Shared Service Centre is tasked with supporting the EMEA field pre-sales in a diverse number of ways, ranging from answering tenders, customizing demos and building prototypes to directly supporting partners and/or customers with specific requests. At this centre we are looking for individuals who are willing to take on the challenge of building excellent product knowledge and combining this with a good commercial sense while working in an international environment. The languages we are looking to add to our centre are: German as a first preference, Italian, Spanish or other Western European language, with advanced level of English (mandatory). PROFILE: To fulfil the role of the BI Technical Pre-Sales Consultant we are looking for individuals that match the following profile: Technical: Good understanding of the IT market/trends University degree or an equivalent technical/IT education Works in an IT related role today (system or DB administrator, technical support, consulting, development) Experience working with a relational database system - preferably Oracle but others are acceptable as well Experience (more then simple user level) with one or more operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) Knowledge and experience of BI products such as Oracle, Cognos, Outlooksoft, Hyperion, Business Objects, Microstrategy, Microsoft Knowledgeable in IT architecture Good knowledge of technologies such as OLAP, SOA, Middleware, ETL, Java and SQL Non Technical: Good communication skills - able to articulate key messages very clearly Openness to work with different languages & cultures (you will support most of Europe) Results orientation, you won’t be satisfied until the job is done with the right quality! Ability to work in (virtual) teams. To get a specific job done often requires working together with many colleagues spread out in different countries Self motivated, you have the natural drive to learn and pick up new challenges Eagerness to learn – you enjoy the challenge of getting to master new products in a very short timeframe Other Work experience in a similar role is an advantage English language is mandatory and fluency (including written) in German, French, or Italian is a must RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal (Product Questions with thorough answers, Architecture and Infrastructure Questions) Create infrastructure draft proposals (Proposed architecture, Sample Architecture, Supported Platform and sizing information) Assist in the creation of customised BI demos Deliver pre-defined Partner Enablement services Proactively support sales teams and partners in positioning BI as a key differentiator Maintain in depth and up to date knowledge of relevant business drivers & typical customer needs Ensure collaboration with industry presales teams, partners, the core technology presales community and sales. Actively develop product expertise · Attend adequate product trainings; read relevant collateral, analyst reports, white papers, competitive documents etc.
