Role Overview : An Analyst is sought to work in the Property & Tourism Team. This position is based in London however reassignment to a field location at a later stage is a possibility.
The role is to provide administrative and analytical support and participate in the project appraisal and monitoring, under the direct supervision of more experienced team members. The Analyst will be expected to participate in all aspects of transaction processing with a special focus on financial modelling and analysis. The Analyst is expected to progressively take on more responsibilities, once the requisite level of skills and experience has been demonstrated.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
· Under the supervision of more experienced Bankers, participate in the execution of new transactions and monitoring of existing projects and clients.
· In any given project, be fully capable of working throughout the whole project life cycle under supervision, including participation in project screening, due diligence, structuring, monitoring and drafting of documentation.
· Perform project related work encompassing a wide range of administrative and operational tasks, such as credit and financial analysis of companies / projects, research and data gathering, construction of cashflow projections.
· Attend meetings with clients with more senior Bankers.
· Liaise with the Bank’s internal Credit department, and other support units.
· Support more senior bankers in preparing Property & Tourism country strategies.
· Prepare high level quantitative analyses of the portfolio and prospective projects.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of two years of relevant experience, from a leading investment bank, private equity firm or asset management firm and/or other relevant financial institutions.
Degree from a leading university in the country of education, preferably an MBA or other relevant post graduate degree, and/or professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA, etc.).
Advanced financial skills with some knowledge of IFRS accounting.
Good analytical and basic credit analysis skills; ability to interpret accounts, understand accounting principles, awareness of good practice in credit risk assessment, ability to design financial models and to understand/resolve complex issues;
Good commercial judgement and understanding of sound business principles.
A strong interest in the economics of the EBRD’s countries of operation and the policy objectives underlying the EBRD’s activities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
Fluency in languages of our countries of operation is an advantage.
Computer literate with excellent Excel skills and ability to produce financial models is a pre-requisite.
