You are a talented web developer looking for new challenges and opportunities, ideally with significant experience in Drupal. We are a growing communications agency focused on the EU institutions, with an excellent reputation for quality and innovation, particularly in the use of Drupal, advanced web techniques and social media, for EU communications. Principal Tasks The principal focus of your work will be on 'back-end' web programming, particularly in Drupal environments - e.g.: analysing needs and advising on the most appropriate CMS, distributions, modules, etc; installing CMS, bugfixing, customising and developing CMS extensions; implementing caching and related technologies; scripting, migrating content between systems, importing data; implementing advanced technlogies (e.g., semantic tools, federated search, machine translation, etc.); managing web servers for the company and its clients; training & supporting colleagues in using these tools; advising on the company's wider IT infrastructure development. Your Profile Essential skills & experience Please indicate your level of skills and experience in the following areas, noting in particular which languages, platforms and tools you are most familiar with: Demonstrated ability of implementing modern web projects and expertise with relevant technologies, e.g.: W3C standards compliant XHTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, etc, CMS (particularly Drupal and other open-source, LAMP based systems) and databases, installing and customising CMS extensions, writing & analysing code, particularly in PHP, SysAdmin tasks (security, scalability issues, mail servers, etc.) Linux experience User support experience Ability to manage and follow IT partners and subcontractors Good command of English (oral, reading). Desirable skills & experience In addition, any of the following skills and experience are desirable, so please mention them in your application: Advanced PHP knowledge; Technical documentation; Functionality Testing site migration experience; Semantic markup, opendata; Web services knowledge & experience; Data visualisation Training experience Search Engine Optimisation, statistics analysis and recommendations; installing CRMs and related technologies, and supporting their use (e.g., mailing campaigns, outreach, subscriber & community management); Information/knowledge management; Information architecture and website ergonomics; Other languages, particularly French and German.
