The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional who demonstrates the following experience and competencies:
Academic background: preferably MA or MSc in Science;
Experience working at European/international level on regulatory and scientific issues, preferably in the chemical industry and/or with a similar member association;
Good knowledge of REACH/CLP is highly desired;
Excellent project management skills;
Full professional proficiency in English and at least one other European language; additional languages are a definite asset;
Excellent oral presentation skills, with the ability to speak clearly and concisely in front of a group; deliver well-organised, enthusiastic and convincing presentations and adapt style and language to audience;
Ability to write clear and concise correspondence translating communications from authorities into actions for the members;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and solve conflicts;
Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills. Strong capacity to communicate with people with different technical backgrounds;
Ability to lead discussions and build consensus;
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Required personal qualities:
A curious mind with an eagerness to learn and grow within the Specialty Chemicals cluster;
Ability to work independently and within a team;
Dedicated and loyal;
Keen to have fun at work despite tight timelines and changing priorities;
Able to recognise and identify problems in a timely manner and focus on providing solutions;
Motivated to represent the voice of industry and influence policy;
Motivation to travel regularly (about 20 %).
