Financial Assistant, (F/M), one-year contract on a part-time basis (50%), based in Luxembourg
Job Profile
This Financial Assistant will exclusively work for certain specific and time limited EU funded projects (both service contracts and grants) recently awarded to the Centre. With regard to these projects, the Financial Assistant will provide financial, bookkeeping and invoicing assistance to the Centre’s Financial Controller. The work will include controlling project expenditure, preparing supporting documentation for invoices and contributing to the drafting of financial reports accompanying such invoices. The work may also include supporting our programme organisers with developing budget and reporting tools in Excel for the said projects.
The key responsibilities of the successful candidate for the vacant position consist of:
Financial assistance, including processing purchase and sales invoices and mission declarations
Control of project expenditure and preparation of documentation for invoices
Contribute to the preparation of financial reports
Develop budget and reporting tools
Various other ad hoc financial administrative tasks, including drafting correspondence to the financial administrators within the relevant EU Institutions and consortium partners
Job Requirements
BAC+2 or equivalent degree in finance or bookkeeping and at least 2 years of practical experience in a similar position.
Knowledge and experience in working with computerised accounting systems.
Practical experience with the financial administration of EU projects will be an advantage.
Command of English and French, both oral and written. Similar proficiency in an additional official language of the EU will be an advantage.
Preferably having the nationality of one of the EU Member States, of the candidate countries to the EU, or one of the EEA countries.
Interest in developments in European matters; knowledge of the EU and its institutions will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be offered a one-year, non-extendable contract and is willing to take up the position on short notice.EIPA offers an attractive salary in addition to 8% holiday allowance, as well as a considerable number of holidays.
